  • Graduates: Phillip Ansell has succesfully defended his dissertation work. Phil will be transitioning to a post-doctoral research associate position with Professor Elliott in the AE department at UIUC. Congratulations Phil!

    Marianne Monastero and Brock Wiberg have completed their M.S. degrees. Marianne will be moving to upstate New York to pursue doctoral studies at RPI. Brock will be moving to Albuquerque, NM to work at Sandia National Labs. Congratulations Marianne and Brock!

  • Welcome: Gustavo Fujiwara, Chis Triphahn, and Brock Wiberg have joined the group as M.S. students. Brock, Chris, and Gustavo's work will focus on computational development of a hybrid airfoil to generate realistic 3D ice shapes.

  • Things to Read: Professor Bragg has been named Interim Dean of the College of Engineering. He was also appointed to the NASA Aeronautics Committee. The committee advises NASA on aeronautics programs and policies and shapes national research agendas. Congratulations Professor Bragg!

  • Graduates: Andrew Mortonson has completed his M.S. degree. He will be moving to Indianapolis to work for Rolls-Royce. Congratulations Andrew!

  • Welcome: Brian Woodard has joined the group as a Post-Doctoral researcher. Brian will be joining the hybrid airfoil development group.

  • Welcome: Marianne Monastero has joined the group as a M.S. student. Her research will involve the use of pressure-sensitive paint, or PSP, in the wind tunnel on an iced 3D swept wing.

  • Welcome: Jeff Diebold and Andrew Mortonson have joined the Icing Research Group to work on Master's degrees. Both will be working on a icing of a 3D swept wing. Jeff will focus on experimental wind tunnel work, while Andrew will focus on computational efforts in this area.

  • Welcome: Joe Botalla, Angelo Herrera, and Ruben Hortensius have joined the Icing Research Group to work on Master's degrees. Joe Bottalla will begin his M.S. after working for the group as an undergraduate student. Joe will be working on 3D wing icing while Angelo and Ruben will be working on the Gulfstream bypass project.
